Suzy's life changing treatment

Donation protected

This is our beautiful mum Suzy. In December 2020 our mum had some awful pains and went to the doctors and had various tests, to which the results came back as positive for the HPV virus. The doctors quickly set to work and completed a colposcopy this examination helped to look for abnormalities in her cervix.
Abnormal cells were found, the news wasn't good and a growth had appeared since the first trip to the doctors. After observing for a couple of weeks the mass got bigger and aggressive. The doctors diagnosed as stage 2-3 as the cancer had started to spread to her uterine wall and bladder. We were so grateful to hear a treatment plan was put in place immediately, and that mum would receive 5 doses of radiation a week and 1 dose of chemotherapy a week for a total of 5 weeks then reviewed.

A PET scan was arranged and CT scan to see if the cancer had spread further, this took place on Wednesday 10th February 2021. Just a few days later the results were announced to our mum and our step-father. It has spread further!

This horrible disease has spread to our mum's pelvis, lymph nodes and bones. Within a matter of weeks we find out she's got cancer. The doctors are hopeful and meet next week to come up with a plan of what happens next.  The planned treatment is still going ahead until a new plan is created, this should hopefully start W/C 22nd February 2021.

Our mum moved to Florida U.S.A. from Lincolnshire UK, in 2011 when she moved to be with the love of her life Jerry (our step-father).  It was such a hard decision for her to leave the UK leaving us, her siblings and mother. Any donations given would go towards mum's treatment costs as she has no insurance due to personal/financial circumstances. We never in a million years thought our mum would get sick!
Currently the treatment (Scans and biopsies) so far have totaled in over $3,000, before any cancer treatment starts. With the current plan of (5 doses) radiation and (1 dose) chemo for 5 weeks we are looking in the region of $35,000 - $50,000. In the US there is no equivalent to the NHS, meaning that patients rely on funding or insurance for treatment. A port will need to be inserted to support ease of treatment.

After working and saving hard for 2 years to buy plane tickets to the UK for May 2020. Sadly this trip was cancelled due to COVID-19. Next month it will have been 3 years since we were last in our mothers arms. We fear that without this treatment we may never see her again or that she will never see her girls 'tie the knot', or grand-kids grow into the strong and caring women she's taught us to be.

Our mum is so strong and determined to do all in her power to fight this demon, but without financial support this life altering treatment might not be possible.
With financial support, this could take pressure off our family to find funds and help our mum to keep calm and concentrate on being positive and strong.

We're hoping that the communities can come together and help support the Hinds family. We appreciate any donation, words of advice, prayers and strength.
